The Puppy

Yesterday I had to witness a very heart breaking sight on the road.
A little puppy had been hit by some vehicle and was lying right in the middle of the road. Now, this is one of the very common things about our roads. Everyday we see countless animals tattooed upon the road, with rubber tires scattering their hearts and intestines all around.
But I'm sure no one would forget this puppy. It was alive. And it was so much alive, like it didn't want to die so soon.

The poor thing was trying to stand up, with its small broken legs and its torso bent down, with a broken neck and its head twisted in an impossible direction. There was blood, flashing red blood over its white feeble body and the dark spots on them.
And it was wriggling, so violently in the middle of the road and all the busy traffic rushing along its sides. I felt like it was holding onto every bits and pieces of its life that was now flying away from it. Like it didn't want to let go of this beautiful world it has only started to see. The same world which has now pinned him to its rough tarred path.

As my vehicle too roared past this puppy, one could only wish for another hit, another huge tire which would bid the small thing its painless goodbye. I don't know what happened to it. But the picture remains in my mind and heart, just like the little puppy, refusing with all its will to fade away and disappear..

This is how the puppy looked like. I don't know why god made them so cute.

8 thinking about it!:

Oh, did I, really? But it was so heartbreaking a sight that one who came across it can't forget it that easily. Makes me wonder how many more poor little beings will be having similar fates in our roads.

@ Meher
It really was.. Its hard to see them struggling for life, but in many cases they go through terrible moments of pain before they close their eyes.

..... ai, life goes on. I was never lucky enough to see a dying animal by the road.

Do you have dogs?

How come God--if He ever existed--miss the feel I'm getting right now...

I thought of remaining strong for a moment like God..it's like nothing for him..no feeling at all..He sees lots of such, every time and moreover 'body' is not something in his care-about list...
but then He misses something here..some kind of feel..the feel I'm feeling right now...
not a beautiful one though..but He sure does missing it..
Hey,,ther,,U wanna feel it???

Yeah, life goes on.. And I don't get time for a dog in this hectic life.
