The script file for this facility was hosted in Google page creator originally. Recently Google has announced that Page creator will be no more in existence after about a week, and will be replaced by Google sites.
What happens is that, if you continue with the old code, one fine day you won't be seeing your smilies but only the symbols.
Here I'm giving the new code which you have to use instead of the old one. I have updated the code in the older post too. Refer the old post for instructions on how to use the code..
<script src='http://sites.google.com/site/theeternalthinker/Home/etSmileys_gen' type='text/javascript'/>
A general note to those who use other smilies in their blogs:
Most of the smiley scripts will be hosted by their authors in either Google Page Creator from Google or otherwise in Geocities from Yahoo! Here, Google is gonna shutdown the service of Page creator, as mentioned above. Another happy news is that Yahoo too, is gonna shutdown Geocities in a not so long while!
Guess what, smilies are gonna disappear from a lotsa blogs using em! Now this is my own observation. Keep your eyes open at where you collected your smiley code , and catch their updates soon! If they are too careless about this, you'll have to find some other source, obviously :) (yeah my smilies are still working!)

10 thinking about it!:
:@ :o :~ :c
thank u... :e
yo! :mj
:) i hope it will work :f
it sure does! :Angel
:)
I have a question! I added this HTML code to my blog and hit preview to insure that it worked. I saw the smileys convert so I hit save and view blog and then they didn't convert. I don't understand. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
@ Emily
The smiley script comes into action only after the entire page is loaded. So one must wait until all the loading is over inorder to see the smileys.
Also, if you're using other JavaScript widgets, there is a chance that these scripts can clash and result in the failure of one or both. The other scripts may not be loading during during the preview.
As otherwise, provided u did everything right, everything ought to work right! :)
